Village of Ham-sur-Meuse

HAM SUR MEUSE

Peaceful village in the heart of one of the numerous loops of the river Meuse, Ham-sur-Meuse is a small town full of charm.
Although recent (1997), the bridge that leads us to Ham-sur-Meuse, leads us into picturesque streets where we discover the St. Lambert Church. In this church, dating from the eighteenth century, we can admire a 2m20 height altarpiece consisting of three compartments of painted oak.
Not very far from the village, the tunnel of Ham-sur-Meuse is a unique attraction in the North of  France. This tunnel is 565 metres long and 6.50 metres wide. Used by the yachtsmen, this tunnel avoid the river meanders which are not navigable in the region of Chooz. The possibility for the yachtsmen of taking an appreciable shortcut!
